Red Cocciopesto and lime - Sack of 25 Kg.
Ancient recipe of plaster in lime and cocciopesto packaged in a bag with three compartments containing:
Lime putty seasoned 12 months
Light colored river sand
red cocciopesto powder
The silica present in the clay cooked at low temperatures binds with lime, creating calcium silicates which increase the mechanical resistance of the plaster.
PLASTER WITH ANCIENT ROSE COCCIOPESTO
The mortar for lime plaster and cocciopesto is a genuine product composed of only natural components.
The lime and cocciopesto plaster is suitable both for interiors and for exteriors, giving healthiness to the environments for the transpiring macroporous structure.
The lime and cocciopesto plaster has a good elasticity and adheres perfectly to the supports.
WHY JOIN LIME AND PODDING POWDER?
If the Romans with Vitruvius ** in -De architectura- were the first to write surprising qualities of hardness and resistance to water that reaches the mixture of lime and cocciopesto, it seems, however, that the Phoenicians and the Israelites already used similar mixtures of lime, pozzolanic powders and cocciopesto, to deepen the subject you can read the interesting article by Mario Collepardi.
If the pozzolanic land was originally used as a natural ground clay, today powders of artificially cooked earth are used, such as the cocciopesto powder contained in the package.
The silica present in the cocciopesto powder is combined with lime to form calcium silicate which increases the resistance of the plaster, maintaining a macroporous structure which guarantees the breathability of the plaster.
With the addition of pozzolana or cocciopesto, the lime putty so acquires hardness and resistance to the action of external agents
MALTA INTONACO AT COCCIOPESTO ROSA ANTICO
It is a pre-dosed damp mortar composed of slaked lime strong natural seasoned for a long time, selected sand and cocciopesto powder obtained from cooking and grinding of cooked clay at low temperatures, between 900 and 1000 ° C, all contained in different sectors of the bag.
Mixing the components of the three compartments starts the natural chemical process of hardening of the mixture, the lime mortar also hardens thanks to the absorption of the carbon dioxide present in the air starting the process of lime reconstitution. The good adherence to the supports and the slow grip reduces the danger of cracking.
FIELDS OF EMPLOYMENT
Excellent for creating interior and exterior plasters. The lime mortar and cocciopesto mixed with added water can be applied by hand or by machine, the natural color makes the plaster aesthetically pleasing without having to apply additional finishes or paints.
The excellent vapor permeability also offers a good dehumidifying function. The genuineness and simplicity of the recipe makes this mortar-plaster suitable for the old walls as the realization of new plasters.
PACKAGE
polythene bags with several 25 kg compartments on 1500 kg pallets (60 bags)
STORAGE
18 months in intact packaging, even outdoors.
Protect from frost due to the presence of water in the lime putty.
HOW TO USE LIKE PLASTER
Pour all the contents of the bag into a horizontal-axis mixer or a cement mixer adding the necessary water. For manual mixing with the electric mixer, it is advisable to put in the bucket first 1 - 2 liters of water, the contents of the bag and only at the end the water necessary to reach the desired consistency.
The plaster is applicable by hand or machine. The old heterogeneous or irregular supports must first be regularized using the same plaster. The walls must be stable, clean and moistened before application.
We recommend a maximum thickness of 2 cm per shot. On damp walls it is advisable to apply shims of at least 3-4 cm since a good thickness of macroporous plaster will confer greater capacity to dispose of humidity of the wall.
It must also be avoided to cover the lime and cocciopesto plaster with synthetic waterproofing paints or coatings as they would prevent the lime reclamation process.
The lime and cocciopesto plaster has a vapor permeability coefficient ? <10.5
YIELD AS A PLASTER
Consumption per centimeter of thickness: 17.8 Kg. Of cocciopesto mortar per sq.m. of plaster
With 10 quintals of mortar, 56 sq.m. of cocciopesto plaster is made.
Considering to create an average thickness of 1.5 cm, it takes about a lot per square meter.
SURFACE FINISH
- Rustica: with sponging of a second layer of plaster executed fresh on fresh;
- Spatolata: with smooth spatula passage of a second fresh layer on fresh.
- Civil: with subsequent application of lime plaster with medium granulometry.
- Smooth: with the application of fine-grained lime plasters
- Possible coloring with lime paints and natural colors
LIKE INTONACHINO
Respecting some conditions, the cocciopesto lime plaster can also be used as a finishing layer with a minimum thickness of 5 / 7mm.
Apply lime plaster to cocciopesto as a finish only on absorbent surfaces and sufficiently rustic as for example it can be a lime-cement mortar in cement mortar if it is not too smooth.
To prove the absorption capacity of the substrate, wet the surface and observe the degree of absorption: if the surface remains easily wet it means that it absorbs and that the plaster can be applied, if on the contrary the water slips away and does not wet the wall it will be necessary to remove the impermeable layer before applying the lime plaster to the cocciopesto.
However, it is good to carry out a test before proceeding with the whole process.
YET AS INTONACHINO
Consumption per centimeter of thickness: about 10 Kg. Of cocciopesto mortar per sqm of surface
With 10 quintals of mortar, about 100 square meters of cocciopesto plaster are made.
** Marco Vitruvio Pollione in his book, De Architectura writes: "there is a kind of dust called -pozzolana- which by nature has extraordinary qualities. It is located in the Bay of Naples and in the lands surrounding the Vesuvius. This powder, mixed with lime and sand makes the masonry so stable that it hardens not only in normal buildings, but also under water »
