Pittura Centri Storici - Traditional Textured Lime-Based Painting
4 or 12 litre bucket.
Pittura Centri Storici is a traditional lime paint, composed of seasoned slaked lime and calcium carbonates. Thanks to the cohesion capacity of the seasoned slaked lime and the vinyl dispersion, it can be applied on low absorbent surfaces made of hydraulic binders.
PITTURA CENTRI STORICI TEXTURED LIME PAINT
Pittura Centri Storici is a traditional paint, based on seasoned slaked lime for wall surfaces. The visual effect of Pittura Centri Storici is shaded and semi-rough, in full respect of the colouring tradition of Italian historical architecture. Ideal to complete the cycle with Primer Centri Storici, applicable on absorbent surfaces based on natural lime, lime mortar and existing well anchored and absorbent paints.
This antique painting technique is available in 159 natural colours, according to the Spring Color Effervescent Lime Paint Colour Chart.
For indoor-outdoor use.
Lime putty, calcium carbonate, vinyl dispersion less than 3%, cellulose thickener, starch.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
For a correct and lasting application of the product, respect the following indications:
The substrates to be treated must be sound, consistent, homogeneous, clean, free of mould, lichen, greasy and/or oily residues, dust and/or particles of any kind and damaged by rising damp. Any loose and unstable parts must be removed in order to restore the optimal suitability of the substrate, a necessary condition for the correct application of the product.
Pittura Centri Storici cannot be applied on existing old or new paint layers unless it has been previously checked that they are perfectly anchored, that they have the necessary degree of absorption and that the tensile strength of a mineral paint has been verified. If the underlying layers do not meet these requirements, we recommend total or partial removal.
Allow at least 6-8 hours between coats, ensuring that the surface to be painted is completely dry. The working temperature of the surfaces to be painted must be between 7°C and 30°C, and the ambient humidity must not exceed 80%, both during application and in the following 48 hours, with protection from rain, direct sunlight and wind.
On new plaster based on lime and cement, apply our Ecological Fixative and then our Centri Storici Primer. On plaster based on natural hydraulic lime and slaked lime, apply our Centri Storici Primer.
On substrates where it is necessary to uniform the surface both in the presence of small imperfections and in the presence of differences in absorption, apply our Ecological Fixative and then our Primer Centri Storici primer.
On finished gypsum-based surfaces, it is necessary to check the compatibility with the Centri Storici Paint on site. In the case of an accentuated dusting or abnormal absorption, it is necessary to proceed with our Ecological Fixative and then our Primer Centri Storici.
On gypsum-based finished surfaces, it is necessary to check the compatibility with the Centri Storici Paint on site. In the case of heavy dusting or abnormal absorption, it is necessary to use our Ecological Fixative and then our Primer Centri Storici.
On plasterboard and plasterboard it is best to smooth the entire surface with our Natural Stucco, then proceed with our Ecological Fixative and our Primer for Historical Centres.
Stir well before and during use.
Dilute the product with 20% of water by volume for the first coat and for the following coats. Apply the product with irregular crossed strokes with a brush or a flat brush. In order to avoid the possibility of recognizing the brush strokes, it is necessary to interrupt the application in correspondence with stringcourses or edges.

Spring Color colours are obtained from natural pigments and realized in an artisan way. Any differences in shade are due to the natural variability of the earth and raw materials, the substrate, the correct dispersion procedure, the origin of the pigments, the climatic conditions and the experience of the applicator. In lime products, the colour undergoes greater variability, so it is advisable to test its fidelity and, if necessary, to accompany the colour. Spring Color colours its finishes with selected and tested earths and oxides. The use of other types of colours and ingredients does not bind the company in any way.
