YELLOW COCCIOPESTO grain size 0-1mm and 0-3mm
The yellow cocciopesto powder is obtained from the grinding of natural clays cooked at controlled temperatures: the cocciopesto is suitable for the packaging of mortars, plasters and natural substrates and colored plasters.
The cocciopesto powder improves the mechanical strength and the hydraulicity index of the lime mixtures and increases their breathability, thus favoring the hygrometric regulation of the environments. The cocciopesto technique has been known since antiquity: large extensions of plaster and cocciopesto Roman floors can still be admired today at the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum.15:05 13/09/2019
USE OF COCCIOPESTO
By adding the cocciopesto powder to the slaked lime and sand, a healthy and breathable cocciopesto plaster is obtained. If the cocciopesto powder is added to seasoned lime putty and fine sand it is possible to obtain an intonachino characterized by the yellow color typical of cocciopesto powder.
The use of earthenware is indicated in every room indoors and outdoors:
the yellow or red cocciopesto of grain size 0-3mm is suitable for base plasters or to be left indoors as well as outdoors. The color given by the cocciopesto powder makes the plaster naturally beautiful without the need for added colors
The yellow or red cocciopesto is more suitable for finishing plasters in environments such as bathrooms and kitchens, to obtain smooth and waterproof surfaces as an alternative to tiles
the dough suitable for the formation of floors is called cocciopesto pastellone, with the right dosage and suitable granulometries you can make cocciopesto floors
Cocciopesto for restorations and new green building
cocciopesto is excellent as a natural and bio-building material, it can be used in new constructions, renovations and restoration and conservative recovery sites and in all cases where mortars with particular mechanical and chemical characteristics are required in perfect harmony with historical traditions and environmental.
The product is bio-ecological by nature and totally recyclable, cocciopesto plasters are naturally healthy and breathable. the use of cocciopesto replaces the use of cement and hydraulic lime in plasters, foundations and finishes. In the kitchen and in the bathroom it allows the creation of smooth, hard and waterproof surfaces if treated in the traditional way.
