KIT- SUBERGLASS - Natural insulating thermal screed of granular cork and sodium silicate
Granular cork thermal insulating screed and sodium silicate
SUBERGLASS 70: 8 bags of 125 Lt of granulated cork 3/14mm + n.2 tanks of 35 kg of sodium silicate = 1 cubic meter of dough
SUBERGLASS 90: 9 bags of 125 Lt of granulated 3/8 mm cork + 3 tanks of 35 kg of sodium silicate = 1,125 cubic meter of dough
SUBERGLASS FOR THERMAL INSULATING SCREED IN CORK
Insulating granulated cork thermal screed, composed of cork grains and sodium silicate: allows to create light and highly insulating substrates
Cork granulate: choice of 3/8 mm or 3 / 14mm
Sodium silicate: liquid, in 35kg drums, to be mixed with cork in the recommended doses
PREPARATION AND LAYING OF THE INSULATING MIXTURE
Mixing can take place in a concrete mixer or by mixing the components by hand directly in the room subject to thermal-acoustic insulation.
In the concrete mixer: in relation to the capacity of the concrete mixer, a precise number of granular cork packs will be mixed with the correct dosage of sodium silicate without the addition of water or other components.
By hand: spread two bags of granular cork on a clean and dry waterproof sheet and slowly pour the correct quantity of sodium silicate; mix manually by mixing the mixture well until the cork grains are completely wet.
The dough is rolled out, pulled straight and compacted with a wooden trowel in order to obtain a walkable substrate.
Seasoning takes place in 48/72 hours.
ADVANTAGES OF THE SUBERGLASS INSULATING THERMAL SCREED
- Possibility of forming thermoacoustic lightened screeds even with thicknesses of 20 cm or more.
- Greater drying speed and reduced waiting times for subsequent processing.
- Biocompatibility and Eco-sustainability of the granular cork and sodium silicate components
- Ease of obtaining thermal and acoustic insulation even on irregular surfaces where it would be impossible to lay panels.
SUBERGLASS 70: N ° 8 bags of 125 L of granular Ri-cork 3/14 mm and N ° 2 tanks of 35 kg of sodium silicate
SUBERGLASS 90: N ° 9 bags of 125 L of granular Ri-cork 3/8 mm and N ° 3 tanks of 35 kg of sodium silicate
Sodium silicate is an inorganic chemical compound based on air catalyzing silica, which does not give rise to any toxic fumes. Once crystallized it is completely inert. These are easily available chemical elements, with low use of energy during production. The product is over 99% biodegradable.
