 BLOND GRANULAR CORK

200 Lt carton box - 1/5 m³
The following thermal and acoustic insulation works can be performed with granulated cork:
1- Insufflation of empty cavities in the perimeter walls of buildings.
2- Insulation of the attics with granular laid in loose form or mixed with Sodium Silicate (natural vitrifying).
3- Insulation of the attics together with the cork panels
4- Packaging of Thermal plaster for the thermal and acoustic insulation of houses.
5- Packaging of thermo-insulating substrates and sound absorbers.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GRANULATE CORK

- Specific weight of granulated cork: 100-105 kg per
- thermal conductivity: 0.042 W / mK
- Thermal resistance (value measured on the thickness of 25 mm): 0.61 m2K / W
- Moisture content of ground cork: 5%

200 lt. carton box - 1/5  (5 granular cork bags for 1 )

USE OF BUILDING CORK GRANULATED

1-Insufflation in the walls

drill the holes on the perimeter walls and blow in the granular cork until the hollow spaces are completely filled. (size of granular cork in relation to the size of the cavity: dim 3/14 for 7-15 cm wide cavities - dim 3/8 for medium cavities 5-10 cm - dim 1/3 for small cavities 1-5 cm)

2-Loose roof insulation:

lay the cork in thickness in a free way on the surface or fill formworks or sectors suitable for a subsequent walkable cover (dim 3/14)

3-Insulation of the attics mixed with sodium silicate:

mix 1 m³ of granulated cork 3/14 with 70 kg of sodium silicate or 1 mc of granular 3/8 with 90 kg of sodium silicate. The video documents the thermal insulation of a large attic for a thickness of 20cm of dough: in this case equipment such as the truck mixer and the crane were used to bring the dough up to the roof, but in general for surfaces of normal dwellings it is more convenient to bring the cork in bags into the attic and make the mixture directly on the spot.

4-Insulation of floor substrates mixed with sodium silicate:

mix 1 mc of granulated cork 3/8 with 90kg of sodium silicate and spread the dough compacting it with a trowel. Then cover with a load-bearing screed or paneling before paving the affected surface.

5-Lightening of screeds with cement or natural hydraulic lime:

mix 1mc of granular 3/14 or 3/8 (or 1 m³ mixed granular cork and sand in all proportions) with 200kg of cement 325 or with 350kg of NHL5 natural hydraulic lime.

CORN GRANULATE FOR THE BRICOLAGE

Granular cork can be used for craft projects and modeling, such as filling dolls and cribs

CORK GRAIN IN THE GARDENING

Mixed with garden soil, the cork grain allows the soil to remain loose (aerated and moist), therefore more beneficial for healthy plant growth.
